We announced the entry of the thirtieth character on the Overwatch roster. Baptiste is a Haitian doctor who will play a key role in supporting the team. The character is already available on the test servers, a factor that has made it possible to reveal their characteristics. The first skill he will have is his main weapon, which is a machine gun with a burst of three shots. In addition to causing damage to enemies, you can point it at your allies and treat them even from the middle distance. Overwatch Boost is a particularly interesting function, which will make the doctor extremely fast in rescue operations.
The alternative fire mode present on the SMG will allow you to throw a grenade, which will quickly recharge the energy of the team members, without having harmful effects on the opponents. Instead the main skill of the character will allow him to create a regenerating shield around him, very similar to Lucio music, but with an area of greater effect. The mechanical boots he is equipped with allow him to jump over the elevated positions after having briefly charged the thrust.
Finally the ultimate of Baptiste, called Amplification Matrix, will allow you to double the damage and care of all the allies that will cross a specific area of the battlefield. A bonus that will even cover the bullets that will pass through the area. Blizzard has not yet revealed when the new protagonist will be available to all Overwatch fans, but given the presence on the test servers, we do not believe that there will be much to wait.
Blizzard presented the new Overwatch event: Storm Rising this week and the first images introduced a character named Sojourn. Apparently he will play an important role in what appears to be a new Overwatch Archives event set in Havana. Furthermore in the last teaser it is possible to hear Sojourn voice and this fact indicates very probably that it was added to the list of Overwatch new heroes. The character will hold a position of authority on Overwatch and in fact offers a series of instructions within the new teaser.
Overwatch Storm Rising will start on April 16th and will last until May 6th. The previous events of Overwatch Archives have generally been based on lore with unique PvE missions, and the same thing can almost be expected. It is almost certainly too early for another new Overwatch hero with this event, since Baptiste was introduced recently. However the correct introduction of Sojourn as a canonical character, ranks it as a candidate for the next hero introduced in the game.
